It is 1889, New Mexico. The gold rush is over and most of the prospectors have moved on. In the middle of nowhere stands a crumbling Antebellum mansion - a bordello that has seen better days. Enoch, the inept pimp, owes a considerable amount of money to the town's psychopathic Sheriff. Money is tight: business is down and the five-woman in the house are tearing each other apart. The only thing they can agree on is their love for Angel, a seven-year-old child whose mother died in childbirth. Enoch still has big dreams despite his difficulties. He believes that there is gold in his yard and, when he is not reading books on Alaska, he spends his time digging and dreaming of a better life there. His past creeps up on him when Madame Gabi, a wealthy but evil brothel proprietress, visits him. She offers Enoch a small fortune for Angel but, although he turns her down, the women are convinced that he has agreed to sell the child. Their suspicions are further confirmed when Enoch announces that they will all be moving to Alaska and that their financial problems are over. What he does not reveal to them is that he has indeed found gold. Unaware of the truth, the women plot to murder Enoch in order to flee and save Angel from a life of child prostitution. When the psychopathic Sheriff turns up demanding his money, misunderstandings, gun play, and a heroic ending ensues.
