Synonyms and antonyms This is one of the most effective ways to learn new words. There are many synonyms and antonyms of the same word. Introduce such words to the kids and define their meaning. Then ask them to use these words in a sentence. When they do it on their own, they will know what the words actually mean. 3. Use the words in different sentences and contexts Whatever word you want the kid to learn, use it in different places. When the kid hears it, again and again, it will become a part of their memory. The more the kids practice and see different uses of the words, the more they will enhance their vocabulary. At the 3rd grade keep the words simple and easy to use and understand. Don’t burden the kids with some big difficult words and then expect them to use it perfectly.
