Ese dreads the annual Christmas party at her family house, mainly because of her mom's relentless nagging about her single status. This year, a family conference call, including her parents and her ever-competitive cousin, Beauty, serves as a reminder of the impending holiday and the pressure to bring a man home. Beauty drops a bombshell, expecting Ese to bring the boyfriend she's supposedly always talking about. Forced to find a date, Ese revisits her list of exes but comes up empty. Desperate, she remembers Andrew, a guy she met on a dating site for a one-time fling, and invites him to play the part.
