Airdate: September 20, 1969 Is anything cooler than CCR in 1969âŚ. or anytime Thereâs a nice group of long-time regulars dancing together among all the new faces here in â69. At the beginning of âCross-Tie Walkerâ you can see the backs of Don Sanuskar and Frank Vanderpuil (in the sport coat) dancing with Karen Sudlow and Robbin Miller respectively, with Roni Menacker to our left and also seen at 0:14. Although Solomon Burkeâs 1969 cover of âProud Maryâ wasnât nearly as popular as CCRâs, it may have been on Dick Clarkâs mind as Solomon sang it on Bandstand just 4 months ago back on May 24th. âProud Maryâ is one of the 5 CCR songs that peaked at #2 (they never had a #1 song on Billboard), doing so back in March. âCross-Tie Walkerâ is one of the tracks on CCRâs new album âGreen Riverâ. The album also features the songs âGreen Riverâ, âLodiâ, âCommotionâ and âBad Moon Risingâ. My favorite CCR song is âLooking Out My Backdoorâ. Whatâs yours In movie news - the highest grossing film of 1969, âButch Cassidy and the Sundance Kidâ will premiere in 3 days on Sept. 23. I hope the blues they send to meet you wonât defeat you. It wonât be long till happiness steps up to greet youâŚ. hopefully sooner than later! Thank you for watching and thank you for helping your neighbors during these trying times by wearing a mask and distancing. Peace & Love
