From speech to writing, to printing and beyond, humans have moved toward a virtual world of communication and thought. In this film, one human being is confronted with the virtual box that we have created for ourselves with our technologies. Whether we are dealing with the visual, such as in a painting or landscape, or a written text, like a book, all knowledge exists in an intangible virtual world. We are slowly separating ourselves from the sources of our knowledge, and ultimately, from each other. The main character, Sara, is on an obsessive and seemingly futile journey to find some semblance of the "real world." In reality, she cannot accept the fact that this does not exist, and that she is trapped in a virtual world.
